Dr. James Rice

Dr. Jim Rice is the senior pastor and founder of Gateway Baptist Church. He graduated in 1985 from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC and completed graduate studies at Northland Baptist Bible College in Dunbar, WI. In the fall of 1990 he and his wife were led of the Lord to come to Loveland from Pennsylvania to establish the church. They arrived in Loveland on July 31, 1991 and held the first service on September 15, 1991 (more information on the history of the church can be found under the Church History . Jim and his wife DeAnn have three children.

Pastor Eric Mowen

Pastor Mowen graduated magna cum laude from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC in May of 1994 with a degree in Pastoral Studies. He moved to Loveland in June of '94 where he married his wife Julie and began serving the Lord at Gateway Baptist Church. Pastor Mowen joined the church staff in 1996 and is currently serving as Music Director. He founded the 1 to 1 Addictions Program and serves as its director. Recently, he earned a Masters degree from Northland Baptist Bible College in Dunbar, WI. Pastor Mowen is also involved in teaching classes for Northland Baptist Bible College West, which provides Bible and ministry related classes to local church students in the Denver area. He and his wife have two children.

Pastor Thad Gunderson

Pastor Thad joined the staff of Gateway Baptist Church in September 2004 and is working as Youth Pastor and College Age Coordinator. He graduated from Maranatha Baptist Bible College in 1997 with a degree in Biblical Studies and a minor in Pastoral Theology. Soon after, Pastor Thad married his wife Natalie and moved to Pennsylvania. There, he attended Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary in Lansdale, PA where he earned a Masters Degree. They later moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska where he was the Youth and Sports Director at the local YMCA and were actively involved with their local church. In the spring of 2003, God called Pastor Thad to the ministry of youth and soon led them to Loveland. He and his wife Natalie have five children.
