What We Believe

Scripture is Our Final Authority

The Bible, given by the inspiration of God, is true and complete. The Bible is our final and infallible guide. It is our rule of faith and practice.

God is a Trinity

We believe that God eternally exists in three persons- the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God, having the same nature, attributes, and perfections. In other words, God is one in His essence but eternally substantial in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Man is unable to fully comprehend this Trinity, but is able by faith to accept God as revealed in the Bible.

God is The Creator

God has created the world out of nothing. All that we see and that which we cannot see originated with God. God created man.

Man is Imperfect and Sinful

God created man in His own image with a free will and in a state of original righteousness. Man, by his own choice, fell from that state and accepted sin into his life. As a consequence, all of mankind has been born with a sin nature. Man is incapable of saving himself from the consequences of that sin. The ultimate consequence for sin is eternal separation from God in a place of torment called Hell.

Jesus Christ is Man’s Answer

Jesus is fully man and fully God. This means He has all the attributes of God and took on human flesh at the time of His virgin birth. He fulfilled the requirements of the Law of God as the perfect, sinless Son of God. He gave His life to be sacrificed on our behalf at His crucifixion. His bodily resurrection from the grave proves His power over death. He is in His post resurrection body seated at the right hand of God the Father ready to receive those who believe in Him. When man repents or turns away from sin and accepts the payment made by Jesus, he is saved from the penalty of Hell and receives the gift of eternal life.

Baptism Identifies Man with Jesus Christ

After receiving Christ as Savior, the believer is to follow Christ’s example and be baptized by immersion. When a believer chooses to be baptized, he identifies not only with Christ but with the body of believers.

Believers are Called to Spiritual Growth

When a person receives Christ, the inevitable result is spiritual growth. A lifelong journey of development and maturing is in store for that person who receives Christ. It is imperative that every believer unite with a church that teaches the Bible.
